It was a positive day on the market yesterday as inflation figures came out of the US, as CPI rose to 0.6% and Core CPI rose to 0.3% both above the forecast. Nasdaq broke all time highs to make a new all time high and touch 14 000. S&P continued its bull run to make a new all time high where Dow sold off before recovering to close the day on 33693.
European indices were mixed as FTSE was range bound failing to break through 6900, Dax broke out of its range as it approached its all time high of 15 325.
Gold and Silver both pushed higher as Gold closed out the day on $1745 and Silver broke above $25 to close the day on $25.33. Brent is still trading in a range as it approcase $65 at the top of the range.
Bitcoin broke through its all time high to rally and close the day out on 63 169, that rally continued into the morning session as BTCUSD traded at 64350 at the time of writing.
The Asian session saw GBP, AUD and NZD strength post RBNZ Rate Statements out of New Zealand as rates were kept unchanged at 0.25% with stimulus set to continue.
Keep an eye out today for ECB statements from President Lagarde, as well as Fed Chair Powell speaking where a lot of the focus will be on the rising inflation rate.
